I’ve been doing photography properly since I was 16. In 2018, I graduated from the University of Cumbria in Carlisle with a BA (HONS) Degree, also getting my first public photography exhibition at Free Range, London during a week in summer. I’m based in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire but I have a studio on the Thorpe Arch Estate – just outside of Wetherby.
Photography is a love that has ran throughout all my life, from a young age I was taking my camera around with me everywhere I went. I now have the ability to turn my camera lens into anything, be it commercial, fashion / portraiture, landscapes, family and new-borns or creative wedding photography.
In 2015, I shot my first wedding and since then I’ve shot a handful more – and I don’t ever intend to stop. I wouldn’t describe myself as a traditional photographer – especially a wedding photographer. I don’t like to take them standard posey shots (with the exemption of family group photos), but I prefer to have a creative, documentary-style approach. This means that I can capture your special day in a very naturalistic way. You’ll hardly know I’m there as I always like to be on the go and move around to get the perfect shots.
On the day of your wedding I'll arrive early, sometimes I’ll even scout out the place just so I can get a lay of the land. And I can stay as late as you need me to be. I’ll always be a tad nervous; not as much as you will be. But ultimately, I want you to be happy with the shots that I’ll be taking – it’s a huge responsibility, and I always strive to get it right.
